Book Cover Design

This book design was a commissioned project for a cosy mystery author. This genre of books has a specific style, with common elements of bright colours, flat colour illustrations, and character focused layouts.

When designing my cover design, I did research into these most popular art styles and layouts. I incorporated trends that would be familiar to audiences while also designing for the requirements of this story. I was briefed to include 1920s (art déco) design elements, a fashionable main female character, and a train setting. I planned my cover around these details, the inspiration images I had gathered of similar books, and my own design ideas. This is the final cover art for the ebook, and I also designed a back cover and spine for future paperback and hardback editions.
