Magazine Design

This was a project to create a cover & spread for a chosen magazine. I chose Project Calm Magazine. The purpose was to replicate the existing magazine style as a way of improving layout and publication knowledge.

I designed this project to be for readers of the original magazine, which has a target audience of young women who are interested in nature, craft, art, and meditation. Creating this project was a process of researching the magazine and similar publications, and gathering inspiration. I collected the elements of these spreads and covers to plan out which elements I wanted to incorporate, and what would work best with my design style. While working on this design, I aimed to put my spin on the reference through a focus on my art style and interests. My project received positive feedback once submitted, and I have continued to develop further pages after completion.
